WhatsApp has become one of the most sought-after messaging apps all over the globe. A lot of apps came in the competition with WhatsApp but couldn’t beat it because of its stunning features. WhatsApp offers a lot of features like one to one chat, group chats, WhatsApp audio and video calls. The audio and video calls were already available for the mobile version. Now WhatsApp has officially announced that you will be able to make video and audio calls through the Whatsapp desktop app for PC.
WhatsApp Desktop App Update
Now you will be able to make video and audio calls to other recipients from the Whatsapp desktop app too. The android and iOs version of the WhatsApp app already had this feature. WhatsApp has promised that just like the app the desktop audio and video calls will also be end-to-end encrypted which means that Facebook will not be able to hear your calls.
The only limitation is that for now the video and audio calling for Whatsapp desktop app will be available only for one to one. It means that the feature is not yet available for group video and audio calling. The video calls will be available in both landscape and portrait mode.
To make audio or video calls from your desktop app you will need the app on your PC. You can download the Whatsapp desktop app for Windows or Mac from their official website. You will not be able to make calls from the WhatsApp Web.
This update will be helpful for WhatsApp users who had to rely on Google Meet on Zoom even for one to one meetings. Now you can organize one to one meetings with your teammates through the WhatsApp desktop app.
