Facebook keeps on bringing new features for making Facebook as secure social media network. Recently it has come up with another feature the Facebook Protect. It ensures that you stay protected from malicious hacking attacks on your Facebook account.
This feature has been designed mainly for those who are at high chance of getting hacked: the journalists, media people, govt. officials etc. These people are more active on the platform and keep discussing different public topics. Hackers want to target their accounts. In this programme you will receive an official email from Facebook which will ask you to turn on Facebook Protect.
Facebook Protect provides higher security. It also makes use of two factor authentication. The 2 Factor authentication first asks the users to verify the code only then he can proceed to access the social media account.
If you don’t turn it on by the given date you may be locked out of your Facebook account. Some users mistook it as a spam email and did not take any action. As a result, Facebook has locked them out of their Facebook account.
The mail has not been sent to everyone. Currently, it has been sent only to those who are at prime target of hacking. Them mail comes from the email address: security@facebook.com Some people thought that it is a Spam email and did not respond.
The company is planning to increase the feature of Facebook protect globally and it has already started the process. It was tested for the first time in the year 2018.
