Meta is still interested in developing its Metaverse hardware which it showed via experimental prototypes in its Metaverse lab. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg presented all these VR headset prototypes.
Technology is evolving day by day. New gadgets keep on occupying the tech market. Youngsters are fascinated by the cool gadgets launched by tech giants. In a similar move, Meta ( earlier Facebook ) tested its VR headset prototypes. It is testing its hardware with experimental prototypes. Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg was more concerned about his virtual reality platform metaverse that’s why he changed the name of the company to Meta.
Mark Zuckerberg sees a lot of potential in virtual reality, not just in gaming but also in the education sector. He says that he would not have dropped out of college if the classes would have been conducted on the VR headsets.
Meta is also testing its smartwatch which will have a dual camera but the project has been delayed due to some reasons.

Meta testing Multiple VR Headsets Prototypes
Mark Zuckerberg and the head of Meta’s Reality Labs department Michael Abrash have come up with several VR headset prototypes that are named Butterscotch, Holocake 2, Mirror Lake, and Starburst.
Butterscotch
Butterscotch is the name of the first VR headset tested by Mark Zuckerberg. This enhances the pixels and uses 2.5X as pixels as the one in the Quest 2.
The prototype reached around 60 pixels per degree, covering half view of the field. It can sharpen words and show them more clearly.
Holocake 2
This one makes use of the holographic lens and in terms of weight, it is the lightest one. It is the best for those who are fond of gaming. It enhances the PC gaming experience.
Mirror Lake
This one has HDR capability.
Starburst
Stardust is the heaviest VR prototype out of all of them. It is more powerful than all of them and has HDR capabilities. It is much brighter and can reach 20000 nits of brightness.
