The UIDAI is very much in trend nowadays and mainly after the TRAI Chief’s details were put on public platform by a French Hacker Elliot Alderson. French Hacker told that there is a security loophole in the official Aadhaar app and he managed to get access to RS Sharma’s personal details. After all this story, a new story has come up in trend nowadays.

After French hacker tweeted @UIDAI that their helpline number is present in smartphones automatically and asked how this is possible and asked for an explanation from UIDAI. Twitter then got flooded with Android users’ tweets saying that yes they too have UIDAI helpline number saved on their phone.

Well, UIDAI officially tweeted that they don’t have any role in this and they never contacted any telecom operator to push this number in smartphones. UIDAI also said that the number 1800-300-1947 is invalid and outdated. You can yourself check the validity of the UIDAI helpline number 1800-300-1947 saved on your phone. Soon after all this story was going Google released an official statement claiming that they are behind all this and took the blame for UIDAI number in contact list.

“Our internal review has revealed that in 2014, the then UIDAI helpline number and the 112 distress helpline number were inadvertently coded into the SetUp wizard of the Android release given to OEMs for use in India and has remained there since. Since the numbers get listed on a user’s contact list these get transferred accordingly to the contacts on any new device,” a statement from Google said.

UIDAI number is saved on most of the smartphone users because maximum of the population prefer to use Android smartphone. Even if you don’t have an Aadhaar Card you can find the number 1800-300-1947 saved on your android mobile phone.
