If you are a snapchat user then you must be aware about one of its features, the screenshot notification feature. Snapchat lets you send disappearing messages. This single skyrocketed the app’s user base as everyone loves privacy. Teenagers liked this feature very much especially as they are more concerned about their privacy while they are chatting. Meta ( previously Facebook) has now launched the same feature for Facebook messenger.

The feature will be available for disappearing messages. If you turn on disappearing messages you can enjoy this feature. It will notify you if someone takes a screenshot of the disappearing messages. The feature is not yet launched for everyone. It may take 2-3 weeks for it to fully roll out.
Let’s check what does Product Manager (Meta) Timothy Buck said in one of his blog posts:-
“Today, we’re announcing updates for Messenger’s opt-in end-to-end encrypted chats that will help improve your messaging experience. Building secure and fun interactive features take time and require our engineers to innovate and solve technical challenges, so this is part of a series of product updates as we keep improving our services. With cybercrime and hacking on the rise, it’s more important than ever to find great ways to connect with friends and family through private and secure communications.”
Meta CEO and Founder, Mark Zuckerberg also posted an update on hiss wall about this privacy feature.
He said that they will soon add emojis and GIFs to the encrypted chats. Encryption has become the need of the hour. In this digital age, people are more concerned about their privacy. WhatsApp is one of the best examples of end-to-end encryption messaging apps.
Along with the Screenshot notification feature, Meta has also launched the Facebook messenger Reactions feature. With this feature, you will be able to react to other users’ chats. You can simply hold a chat and choose the reactions. You can react with happy, sad, angry, surprised, or thumbs up reactions.
Currently, the screenshot notification feature has been launched only for Facebook messenger but we believe Whatsapp may also get such a feature. What’s your say about it?
